An example of the SCHADE large-capacity units is ten circular stockyards, which are operating in a Taiwanese port. The storage buildings of these plants have a diameter of 120 m and the equipment achieves a stacking capacity of 4,000 t/h and a reclaiming capacity of 2,000 t/h.

Each unit can store 180,000 t. All SCHADE scrapers have a scraper chain which is arranged and produced according to the SCHADE standard, which exceeds the technical properties of current chain standards and achieves exceptional hours of operation.

All scraper chains are equipped with automatic tension take-ups, which permit an even take-up of both chain strands. All stacking and reclaiming steps are SPS controlled for fully-automatic operation. The bridge scraper is equipped with a harrow which covers the entire cross-section of the stockpile. This large harrow has the enormous advantage of ensuring perfect evenness and a constant and even bulk material flow. Hub in order to cover the entire cross-section, the SCHADE-harrow only needs a short hub, i.e. a small travel distance, in this way it guarantees a far lower wear rate.

As standard, the SCHADE portal scrapers for stockpiles have a large span, whether it is for covered or open-air operation, and are fitted with a scraper boom, to avoid horizontal forces and unstable movements at the free end of the scraper boom. The portal construction is otherwise executed and built in standard fashion as a torsion-free forged frame.
