Country-specific information - China
In future, electronic advance notifications for imports and exports will also be obligatory in China; the procedure called CCAM (China Customs Advance Manifest) is planned to be introduced with effect of 1st January 2009. Unfortunately, we currently still have not sufficient further information available; only the framework conditions seem to be clear: Thus, among other things, arrival and departure must be announced 2 days in advance. As soon as we know further details, we are gladly willing to make them available upon request.
Seafreight
After the official cancellation of the shipping conferences since October 2008, time and again problems have been experienced with the handling of L/Cs, as these partly still specify so-called conference certificates for sea freights as documents which release payment. These, however, now are unnecessary after the discontinuation of the conferences. This aspect should be considered when concluding new L/Cs; as a precautionary measure, older L/Cs should be checked for this issue.
Due to the oil price development and the intensifying competition on some routes, the fuel surcharges (BAF) as well as the rates are falling drastically; please contact us for actual freight quotation.
Airfreight
Here, too, the declining oil prices have an impact, the fuel surcharges fell considerably; from EUR 1.25 per kg to EUR 0,60 – 0,50/ kg. Also the basic rates are still under heavy pressure; please contact us for actual freight quotation.
Overlandtraffic
Again, the sinking oil price has a noticeable effect; the Diesel surcharges went down noticeably. Unfortunately, it must be assumed that the benefits will be offset again by the decided toll increase in Germany (EUR 0.05/km).
