The Second Generation

1951 his son, Günter-Claus Aumund, took over the engineering office.

On account of the expanding business, he soon decided to add equipment manufacture to the engineering services which, at that time were still the core business of the company. He found the adequate premises for the company-owned workshops at a just 30 minutes’ drive from Duisburg in Rheinberg, where the company's main office has been located until today.

Manufacture in the first workshop started in 1956. As a result of the increasing success of Aumund conveying equipment, regular extensions of the workshops and construction of office blocks followed over the years.

With the downturn in the mining and steel industry in the late Fifties and early Sixties, market diversification became a major issue. Thanks to the company's expertise in the design and manufacture of conveying equipment for hot and abrasive materials¬_achieved in the mining and steel industry, the cement industry started to be a target market with new opportunities and the first references in the cement industry were recorded as early as 1962.
